EDF EN Services Belgium
A new company specialised in the operation and maintenance of renewable energy installations in Belgium
EDF Luminus and EDF EN Services, a subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles specialised in the operation and maintenance of renewable energy installations in Europe, announce the establishment of a common subsidiary: EDF EN Services Belgium. This company provides operational and maintenance services in Belgium on behalf of EDF Luminus and other owners of wind farms and industrial solar arrays.
EDF EN Services Belgium provides the owners of onshore wind farms and industrial solar arrays in Belgium with specific services to optimise the productive life of their installations. These services include performance analysis, inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance as well as substantial replacements of parts to improve the performance and returns.
EDF Luminus and EDF EN Services have therefore joined forces and have established EDF EN Services Belgium, based in Villers-le-Bouillet. The subsidiary is headed by Wouter Holbrecht, 32 years old and until now O&M Wind Manager at EDF Luminus.
In 2014, EDF Luminus invested € 100 million in renewable energy production, making it the fastest growing company in the field of wind turbines on the European mainland. EDF Luminus’s wind farms currently boast 90 turbines. In 2005, the company started developing wind power with a first wind farm in Villers-le-Bouillet. EDF EN Services Belgium will concentrate on these first and oldest wind farms so that they continue to perform optimally.
Grégoire Dallemagne, CEO of EDF Luminus: “I am pleased we can develop new activities in the sector of renewable energy and provide them to all owners of renewable energy installations in Belgium thanks to the expertise of EDF EN Services.”
According to Thierry Muller, CEO of EDF EN Services “the market entry of EDF EN Services in a seventh European country in collaboration with strong local partner EDF Luminus will ensure value creation through the provision of new services. The joining of forces between the teams of the EDF Group enables us to confidently occupy a position in the Belgian market so as to provide owners of renewable energy installations with new operational and maintenance services.”
