EDF Luminus acquires a majority stake in ATS NV, an indispensable player in the field of energy services
EDF Luminus acquires the majority of the share capital of ATS NV. Through this transaction, EDF Luminus becomes a leading player in the field of energy services in Belgium and will be able to provide a complete range of technological solutions to industrial customers as well as customers in the services and public sectors.
Based in Merelbeke, ATS employs over 600 staff. In 2014, the company had a turnover of over 100 million EUR. It offers a complete range of technological solutions to industrial customers as well as customers in the services and public sectors. In addition to the distribution of electrical equipment, it also provides integrated electricity and heating solutions. Its activities include design and engineering, installation and maintenance of industrial electric networks, automation projects, industrial refrigeration, fire detection and hydraulic systems.
EDF Luminus and ATS will be able to further improve their assistance to customers by providing solutions with regard to energy efficiency and optimisation together. This holding in ATS fits in with EDF Luminus’s long-term strategy which in 2014 resulted in two important partnerships with Rami Services and Dauvister, two companies providing energy services to private individuals and SMEs.
Grégoire Dallemagne, CEO of EDF Luminus: “This holding in ATS allows us to take a major step in our strategy to become the leading energy partner. After all, we will now be able to assist our customers even better in the optimisation of their energy use by providing total solutions such as energy-saving advice, the full realisation of electrical and heating installations, and maintenance.”
René Schepens, CEO of ATS: “The partnership with EDF Luminus will enable ATS to further improve the quality of our services and to better meet the expectations of our customers. The presence of a solid shareholder such as EDF Luminus will furthermore ensure the stability and continuity of our future growth.”
EDF Luminus and ATS intend to finalise the transaction in the first semester of 2015, upon approval by the Belgian competition authority.
