EDF Luminus concludes contract with ESV Energie and supplies electricity and natural gas to most Flemish hospitals and care centres
From 1 January 2017 onward, EDF Luminus will supply electricity and natural gas to the 215 institutions connected to ESV Energie, including hospitals, rest homes and rehabilitation centres. This makes for a total of about 1,500 supply points, with a supply volume of over 1 TWh of gas and electricity a year, which corresponds to the energy consumption of about 100,000 households.
Three-year contract for the supply of electricity and natural gas
EDF Luminus has won ESV Energie’s energy tender leading to the conclusion of a three-year contract for supplying electricity and natural gas. The contract comprises a volume of approximately 600 GWh of natural gas and 435 GWh of electricity a year. This makes it 2015’s largest energy tender in Belgium.
The tendering process not only took account of the energy price, but also of the possibility to adjust the price to market trends and the accompanying advice to draw benefits from price fluctuations in the energy market. In addition, the services provided, such as support in case of technical breakdowns and solutions for reducing energy consumption, also played an important part.

EDF Luminus positions itself as an energy partner and looks forward to providing guidance to the institutions connected to ESV Energie in their energy transition.”
